Rad Hatter is a brand that was born from the love of handmade clothing with extra attention to detail and the need for more environmentally conscious decisions. It is heavily inspired by nature and finding magic in the mundane.
Every item is unique and one of a kind, no design can be repeated in the same way. All the yarn used is from 100% natural fibers, unless stated otherwise, in which case it was sourced second-hand. All the yarn is also selected to be the softest possible and no scratchy wool is ever used, unless stated otherwise.
The vision is to inspire and enable everyone to be their most unique self, despite the need to conform and be uniform. True beauty lies in each individual’s uniqueness and Rad Hatter wants to help showcase just that.
Every order can be customized to the smallest detail, including even a special number in the count of the stitches. Rad Hatter items are filled with magic and love and can be charged to fulfill a specific purpose. Ex.: You can order a hat for protection or for summoning more love/friendship/luck.
The story behind
The person behind Rad Hatter is a girl with a love for the strange and unique, who had a dream of becoming a clothing designer since a little kid, but never had the courage to pursue her dream. Until one day in 2016, she learned to knit. Soon after, crochet was involved in the mix and later the idea of re-working old clothes followed. The amazement of what a little thread of yarn and a needle could do was so big, the creating hasn’t stopped since.
The brand was born in 2020, when after 4 years of knitting & crocheting, the need to share the joy became too powerful and with the help of friends and close ones, Rad Hatter was born.
The name was inspired by the magical character from ‘Alice in Wonderland’ – The Mad Hatter. It is because there is so much magic weaved in the business of knitting and crocheting, combined with the fact that the first creations which came to be were mostly hats and lastly, rad is to describe how one looks when wearing a custom-made, handmade item(s), that brings so much color and joy to the world. Which is the main mission of the brand.
